James Blatch - Founder & Principal Trainer

James Blatch is one of Sydney’s best known hypertrophy coaches, specialising in muscle gain and fat loss using science-based training programs and diets that are renowned for their efficacy.

By 17, James was a fully qualified PT and working at Sydney’s famous City Gym. He spent his teenage years learning the foundations of bodybuilding and PT under one of Australia’s most respected professional bodybuilders. After making it to the IFBB National Championships as a Junior, he quickly realised skimpy posing trunks and Pro-Tan weren’t his thing. His true passion lay in helping recreational lifters realise their dream bodies.

James is known for his talent in performance psychology, knowledge of biomechanics, anatomy and his persistency as a trainer. He draws on an Applied Science degree in Exercise & Sports Science, national level competitive bodybuilding experience and two decades of full time personal training to deliver spectacular results for his clients.

James Blatch is available for personal training sessions at Blatch Fitness from $110/hr for clients booking multiple times/wk, $130/hr for clients booking once/wk or less, $95/hr (each) for group sessions with 2 clients, $85/hr (each) for group sessions with 3 clients, online training sessions are conducted via Facetime (or similar) for $130AU/hr. Steve Cross - Associate Personal Trainer

Steve Cross worked in Accounting for the past three decades but has always harboured a keen interest in bodybuilding and fitness. After achieving notable success as a CPA, he found himself in the position to retire early and engaged James Blatch as his personal trainer.

As Steve’s physique began to undergo significant muscular development, he eagerly set about accumulating exercise science knowledge, progressed rapidly and made the decision to begin a second career in personal training.

After being personally mentored by James as a trainer over the past 3 years and having trained in commercial gyms for more than 30, Steve graduated as the top student in multiple personal training certification courses. Today he works as a fully certified personal trainer at Blatch Fitness and is quickly gaining a reputation as one of the most adept transformation coaches in the game.

A technique oriented coach with a passion for hypertrophy work and a knack for breaking down complex concepts into easy to follow instructions, Steve is known for his no nonsense approach to bodybuilding & fitness. He draws immense satisfaction from helping others build their dream bodies.
